The Neighborhood

Former center of Caserta during the Middle Ages, Casertavecchia (literally “Old Caserta”) is an enchanting medieval village on the slopes of the Tifatini Mountains, located about 10km north-east of the current city center of Caserta.

The majesty of the place, together with its proximity with Napoli (35 km distance) and UNESCO world heritage sites (e.g. Reggia di Caserta, Vanvitelli acqueduct and San Leucio complex), makes Casertavecchia a unique place; its architecture blends cultures and ages, including the Byzantine, Arabic, Norman and Gothic.

The remarkable panorama that can be enjoyed in many parts of the village, the nice walks and hikes of the surroundings, together with the local restaurants and sumptuous cuisine, make this place a must-visit destination.
